8 Reasons Why We’re Obsessed With Millennial Pink

Millennial pink is mega right now. Defined as the ‘it’ colour of the moment, the dusty, Scandi-style shade brings a cool, Insta-friendly vibe to everything it touches. To celebrate National Pink Day (23rd June 2017), here are eight reasons why we’re obsessed with millennial pink, from brunch spots and beaches (uh-huh, we’re serious) to must-have accessories.

1. Pink brunches at Palm Vaults

Pink and green interiors, marble-top tables and slogan-covered cakes: Palm Vaults is the Instagram girl’s dream scenario. Head down to the plant-based Hackney hangout for berry-filled smoothie bowls, zingy pink juices and red velvet lattes served with major Miami vibes.

2. Pastel pink ‘dos on our Insta feeds

Pink hair, don’t care. Whether we’re swooning over barely-there blush tones or going all-out with bubblegum pink, a blush-hued barnet is the millennial’s way to do summer right.  Mer-mazing.

3. Pink sandy beaches (yep, really)

Fancy swapping white sands for something more extra? A pink beach is the answer. From the powdery pastels of Komodo National Park in Indonesia to the rose-tinted shores of Elafonissi Beach in Greece, these pink-hued hotspots have got wanderlust written all over them.

4. Afternoon teas at the plush pink Sketch

Been there, done that, got the toilet selfie? Us too – but we still can’t get enough. Created by interior designer India Mahdavi, Sketch in London’s Mayfair (so swanky) boasts dusty pink walls with matching velvet armchairs, chevron-tiled floors and cutesy framed illustrations from artist David Shrigley. Totes dreamy.

5. Pink bags = mega arm candy

Pink bags have been our most-pinned fashion item ever since the start of the season, with candy-coloured backpacks, structured totes and down-sized designs grabbing all the attention. Wanna get involved? Get your hands on a little pink number for an instant SS17 refresh.

6. All the pink treats at Peggy Porschen

Once we’re done posing in the pastel pink doorway (new profile pic for every single social media platform = sorted), Peggy Porschen in Chelsea, London is our ultimate spot for the prettiest sweet treats in town. Think strawberry-topped champagne cupcakes, pastel-pink macaroons, and raspberry and rose layer cakes, all washed down with a summer-berry blend tea. Yes please.

7. Pink flowers, please!

The easiest way to boost our mood *and* our Insta feeds? Scoping out our nearest flower markets for the pinkest pick of the bunch – think peonies, hydrangeas and pastel-hued roses. Hashtag no filter.

8. The pinkest hangout in Spain

Nope, you’re not seeing things from major pink overload (sorry, not sorry).  La Muralla Roja – which literally means The Red Wall in Spanish – is wow-worthy geometric wonder in the Alicante region of Spain. Designed with soft pink, bold red and deep blue walls,  some of these abstract apartments are available to hire for summer vacays, and come with sea views and pool terraces. Take us there, ASAP.
