And that’s a wrap on Fashion Week. From New York to Paris, we’ve been on high alert for every new trend that hit the catwalk, watching every show so you don’t have to. Wanna know what’s coming your way next season? Here’s the lowdown on the accessories we’ll be loving in SS18.
Heritage Handbags
From Armani to Fendi, everyone turned the clocks back on bags for SS18. Prim, ladylike, vintage-inspired; our fave designers raided Grandma’s handbag collection, reworked it and made it cool. There’s no room for slouchy silhouettes here, it’s all about boxy structures and neat proportions. Trend-led twists come courtesy of pastel shades, chunky stitching, statement clasps and geometric details.

Heirloom Ear Candy
Earrings are taking a trip down memory lane too. Moving on from contemporary forms and mismatched sets last fashion month, Chanel, Saint Laurent, Christopher Kane, Balenciaga and a whole host more opted for heirloom gems and diamonds revived in giant, 80s proportions. It’s the perfect mix of now and then. We’re hyped for the glamour revival.

Statement Necklaces

Bold beads, giant gems or chunky chains – there’s only one rule when it comes to necklaces this season: go big or go home. Versace did gold chains and multi-coloured beads, Armani went abstract and Gucci layered them high. There’s no room for subtlety here, that’s for sure. Statement pieces only, please.

Simone Rocha put them on hair clips, earrings and collars, Erdem peppered brooches and shoes with them, and Dolce & Gabanna even put them on crowns. We’re talking about fashion’s new favourite: pearls. There’s no wrong way to wear them. Adorning your ears or elevating your arm candy? If you’re accessorising with pearls, you’ve got SS18 style nailed.

There’s a new hair hero in town. Grips, slides, hair clips; whatever you call them, they’re about to be the hottest new hair accessory. Ashley Williams tore up LFW with diamante quote clips (we’ll take one of each, thanks), Simone Rocha went ultra feminine with sparkles, bows and pearls and Versace flew the flag for all-out glamour with gold and precious gems. Get ready to dress those tresses.
