We know – we can’t believe it’s nearly Christmas either, guys. But before we get carried away with the mince pies and the gifts, there’s still loads of other amazing things we just HAVE to do in December to get in the mood for the big day. Make time for these mega-fun events and you seriously won’t regret it.
1. Show off your curling skills at Queens in London
Slide into the winter vibes with Curl Power at Queens bowling alley in West London. The minds behind this awesome pop up, Sliders, have set eight ice lanes under a giant disco ball to bring party feels while you get your game face on. Plus, if the match isn’t your thing, then you’re a stone’s throw (sorry!) from the MEATliquor lounge where delicious food awaits. Book your slot here up to 31st January 2018.
2. Have a LOL at the Bad Mom’s Christmas
Let’s face it, anyone who doesn’t love a good Christmas movie deserves instant ghosting (too harsh?). Getting us majorly in the mood for the festive season, this sequel to Bad Moms is guaranteed to have everyone LOLing from start to finish. With a baddass female cast including Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Susan Sarandon, it combines girl power vibes and Christmas spirit in one. We LOVE. Book tickets for Odeon cinemas here.
3. Kick off the feast-ivities with a Christmas afternoon tea in Kensington
When you’re feeling completely done with the mare-ish crowds of Christmas shoppers, take a totes-needed break at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington. Their festive afternoon tea has everyone’s fave finger sandwiches and scones, plus some adorbs Xmas-themed sweet treats. Our taste buds are going nuts for the mince pie macaroons and Baileys choux buns. Check out the menu and book here for 1st-24th December.
4. Listen to LANY playing live in Leeds
Whether you know them for their Cali-cool sound or because their frontman is dating popstar babe Dua Lipa, LANY are a must for your Spotify faves this month. On 7th December, this brooding trio are taking over Stylus at Leeds Uni as part of their UK tour. We’ll be swaying to their synthy alternative beats – and checking out the wings in the hopes of spying Dua’s cool-girl style, obvs. Get your tickets here.
5. Party in the pop-up igloos on Brighton Beach
This month, 10 igloos are popping up on Brighton Beach, and our minds are BLOWN. Decorated with fairy lights for all the festive feels, these fully-heated domes are taking bookings for dinners and parties until 1st January 2018. Get your mates together for the closest thing to Lapland you’ll find this far from the North Pole – just pretend that the sand is snow… right? More info here.
