Accessorize AW17 Press Day

Get a sneak peek at the Accessorize AW17 collection and get to know the must-have trends of next season before anyone else. From embroidered bags and jaw-dropping jewellery to plush winter warmers, these are the major new styles that will get you pumped for the cold weather (promise). Wish-lists at the ready!

Let’s Go Disco

Glitter, sequins and molten metallics: these mini bags have got that whole disco ball vibe down. From camera bags and across-body styles to that cat-shaped cutie (purr-fect), these late-night divas have already got us counting down to party season.

Embroidery Gets Extra

The embroidered bag trend ups it game for Accessorize AW17, with fierce tiger motifs (literally the best thing ever) and novelty space-age designs demanding our full attention. If florals are more your thing, look out for ditsy blooms on inky backgrounds and soft, rounded shapes. Obsessed? Ditto.

Jewels That Rule

Statement jewellery is back with a bang for the new season, with tassels, geometric shapes and jaw-dropping sparkles stealing the show. Get ready to lust over long-drop earrings and ’90s-style hoops with extra details, plus XXL cocktail rings straight from granny’s attic.

That’s A Wrap!

Winter warmers = the best thing about cold weather. Prepare for a wrap session like no other with oversized scarves in dark, muted colours, bold colours and stripes, keeping it oh-so-AW17 with pleated textures and statement tassels. Wanna get your head in the game? Keep an eye out for Parisian-style berets and the new wave of knitted beanies with playful pom-poms.

You’re So Fancy

Winter wedding, festive bash or out-out with the girl gang? No matter what’s on the after-dark agenda, these so-fancy faves are here to take your party look to the next level. Think wow-worthy costume jewellery, plus embellished clutch bags and pouches dripping with sparkles.

London Fashion Week: The Highlights

We’re back on home turf with London Fashion Week. Renowned for being the most creative of the four major fashion capitals, this season’s LFW, as ever, has stayed true to those eclectic, off-beat sensibilities. It’s been a bumper showing of colour, texture, volume and eccentric details so let’s jump right into the highlights…

The Most-Hyped Shows

Kicking off with some homegrown, emerging talent, Molly Goddard is the fashion insiders’ favourite, loved for her huge, layered tulle creations. She didn’t disappoint, serving up plenty of volume but she also featured floral prints and more wearable separates which we just know we’ll be seeing on fashion bloggers outside next season’s shows.

From a newcomer to the heritage giants: Mulberry layered up on decadence and had us swooning over sumptuous textures and super luxe bags, while Christopher Bailey crafted new dimensions and intricate armour with a British twist for Burberry. And, of course, we can’t forget House of Holland. Henry pulled off a true fashion feat for AW17; taking the cowgirl look from costume to the height of cool. Sign us up for a Stetson and a pair of cowboy boots, please.

Shop Florals >

Shop Pearls>

Celeb Spots

The front rows were packed with all of the most stylish celebrities. Katy Perry rocked her brand new platinum blonde locks at the Christopher Kane show, looking a dream in metallic textures.

Over at Burberry, the biggest stars were out in full force. We’d trade our entire wardrobe to be sat on that front row in between Naomi Campbell, Suki Waterhouse and Penelope Cruz.

The Trends

Forget the bag; it was all about the strap at LFW. Anya Hindmarch used paper craft as her inspiration with paper chain-style leather straps and layered hearts.  As always, House of Holland took things to the max, decking out theirs in fringing and multiple charms.

Brooches are also making a comeback but you won’t find these in your grandma’s jewellery box. It was all about straight lines and simplicity at Christopher Kane; his marbled, pearlescent creations adorning dresses, cardigans and jumpers. At Toga, things got a lot more extravagant, with clusters of abstract gems from head to toe.

Shop Bag Straps & Charms >

After all the eccentricity, it’s onto Milan next for collections by some of the biggest fashion houses on the scene…

New York Fashion Week: The Highlights

From  backstage Insta stories to runway live streams, we’ve been living and breathing New York Fashion Week over the past few days. The Big Apple always serves up Fashion Week with a slice of sleek understatement and urban cool, giving the city its own distinct fashion language. The editors and street stylers had to brave the snow to make it to the shows but we’ve got the full low-down right here for you.

The Most-Hyped Shows

Calvin Klein was the show on everyone’s mind – the first since ex-Dior creative director Raf Simons took the helm. Simons didn’t put a foot wrong, mixing CK’s definitive brand of minimalism with nods to Americana and plenty of denim. Colours were bold, fabrics were daring and we’re loving the new era for this iconic label.

Calvin Klein wasn’t the only show that drew attention, though. Christian Siriano made waves with his accessible glamour and body positive inclusive casting, while our favourite ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham got full marks once again for her unique blend of structure and slouch. We can definitely see ourselves wearing sharp blazers over fluid dresses next season.

Celeb Spots

NYFW is always there for a game of spot the celebrity and you don’t have to look hard. The Hadid sisters graced more runways than we can count, from the super-cool Zadig & Voltaire to the always OTT Jeremy Scott.

Off the runway, the Beckham clan were out in full force to show their support to Victoria and the Calvin Klein FROW was a who’s who of fashion insiders and style icons. Our fave rising star (and new face of the brand) Millie Bobby Brown channelled a biker vibe, while Alexa Chung gave us serious SS17 inspiration in her white crochet dress. She posed with Karlie Kloss who took her look in the exact opposite direction, looking amazing in head to toe black.

The Trends

We’ve had our eyes peeled for the freshest new trends this NYFW. First up, mismatched earrings are set to be big news for AW17, with Proenza Schouler, Zadig & Voltaire and 3.1 Philip Lim making up some of the labels that set the trend. Whether it’s an asymmetric set or a single statement earring, the new rule is mix, don’t match.

Shop Statement Earrings >

From supersized earrings to tiny bags. Milly, Tory Burch, Oscar de la Renta, Jason Wu and Altazurra all armed their models with miniscule bags, so be prepared to scale down your daily essentials next season…
