5 Royal Wedding Party Ideas

The Royal wedding is nearly here and we cannot wait. We’ve booked the 19th off (still crying that we don’t get an extra bank holiday) and there’s a 100% chance we’ll be throwing a party to celebrate. Meghan and Harry are basically the most relatable royals out there so we’re totally rooting for them. Got a case of Royal wedding fever too? Send out the invites and let’s get party planning…

1. Throw a Street Party

There’s something about a Royal wedding that gets us feeling super-nostalgic so throw it right back to the 50s and host a street party. Grab your pals and  neighbours, a few tables and a whole lot of bunting to get things rolling. It’s an amazing way to bring everyone together, plus it takes loads of stress out of the party planning process because everyone’s there to chip in with food and drink.

2. Host Afternoon Tea

We literally never need an excuse for cake, but a Royal wedding is a pretty good reason anyway. Afternoon tea is about as British as it gets – and super sophisticated – so it’s the perfect way to celebrate a brand new royal power couple. Bag a vintage tea set, stock up on scones and Victoria sponge and make it elegant with some floral cushions.

3. Have a Viewing Party

Anyone else already been watching back-to-back episodes of Suits just to keep them going until the big day? We’re definitely not alone and there’s no way we’re missing the real-life Meghan Markle story, so gather around the biggest screen available and host a viewing party. Make it official with invites and a wedding-themed dress code.

4. Channel a Red, White and Blue Theme

If you want to channel your appreciation in a totally fashion-appropriate way, give your party  a red, white and blue theme. All three colours are key for SS18, so mix and match or work a directional look and go monotone from head to toe.

5. Host Your Own Reception

Didn’t get an invite to the after party? (Us neither). Throw your own instead! We’re thinking throwing on your best dress and accessories, sipping on champagne and sending your guests off with Royal wedding-themed party favours.

5 Boho Beach Looks for Your Next Vacay

Counting down the days till you can swan around a beach looking like a boho babe straight outta Insta? Yep, we know the feeling. So whether you’re planning on going all-out global traveller or just want a hint of hippie in your getaway get-up, here are five boho beach looks to wear on your next vacay – sun, sea and sand, here we come.

1. Make Me Blush

Up until now, gold has been our go-to shade for boho glam – and not least because it looks great with a tan. But this season, we’re swapping it out for a pop of pink (yep, you heard), from the outfit right down to the accessories. Wanna join us? Get down with this cool khaki playsuit with blush-toned embroideries, amping up the boho-luxe vibe with rosy little extras. Hashtag heaven.

2. Print Party

Wanna go big on boho? Pick up a paisley-print bikini with – hear us out – ruffles and cold shoulder cut-outs for something that feels so-SS18. When it comes to the cover-ups, a crisp white kaftan with neon embroideries is your beach-to-bar bestie – and it’ll take you to festival season in a flash too. Win-win.

3. Wave Maker

In case you needed any proof that navy and white don’t always have to add up to nautical, then this breezy boho look is it. Effortless and easy to throw on for a day in the sun, a floaty white shirt and tie-dyed shorts in deep blue create the perfect combo for sun-soaked hols. Add on tonal tassels, gold sandals and a matchy-matchy bag for all the free-spirited feels.

4. Straw Thing

Even though circle bags might seem more at home on city streets than far-flung beaches, you can count on straw styles to make them feel instantly more vacay-ready. Go for an oversized design that you’ll be wearing all-week long, pairing it with a printed playsuit for boho cool.

5. Boho Blooms

The white dress = the ultimate must-have for boho babes. Make it feel considerably cooler with an off-shoulder neckline (the only way to show off that glow) and embroidered blooms in popping shades of pink, adding a little extra co-ordination with a pom-pom bag. For the rest of your extras, play it low-key with neutral palettes and minimal shapes.

5 Pastel Bags to (Candy) Crush On

Although we envisioned spring to be full of sunshine, the reality is, well, somewhat greyer than we imagined (every year, guys, every year). Even so, we’re determined to get in that new season state of mind – and pastel palettes are the definitely the best place to start. To get you started, we’ve rounded up the five pastel bags that you’ll be (candy) crushing on this spring, from bumbags to cool clutches. It’s time to get your pick ‘n’ mix on.

1.  The Bumbag

Bumbags don’t come sweeter than this. Available in candyfloss pink and bubblegum blue, these candy-coloured cuties are giving us all the spring feels– even if the weather’s not playing ball. Wear it around your waist for all the retro vibes, or sling one over your shoulder for something so now.

2. The Handheld Bag

Need a friend for your new tea dress? Enter the handheld bag. Polished without looking too prim and proper, this sweet-as style makes the perfect plus-one to the dreamy midi that’s been hiding in your wardrobe since the start of winter (all hail the sale). The only issue? It comes in four pastel colours – and we *think* we might just need them all.

3. The Vanity Bag

If you spent the last few seasons swooning over mini bags, then you’re in luck. Slightly more structured than their cute counterparts, vanity bags are the so-SS18 way to do small yet fierce. Mix in shimmering shades of lilac and blue, and you’ve got yourself a fash pack fave.

4. The Leather Bag

Serious about spring pastels? Rock the trend from now till forevs (or near enough) with a bit of luxe leather, taking your pick from soft-scoop hues of mint green, milkshake pink, lemon yellow, parma violet and raspberry blue. De-lish.

5. The Circle Bag

Circle bags = the trend that’s getting everyone in a spin. And whether you wanna go for soft lilac or so-pretty pink, you can rely on these sorbet-hued huns to send your spring style to dizzy new heights. Wear them with between-season ‘fits now and warm-weather get-ups later.

Coachella 2018: 5 Festival Trends with Main-Stage Status

The one word on everyone’s lips = Coachella. Giving us serious FOMO with that Beyoncé performance (AKA the headline act of the actual century), the festival’s first weekend also served up more street style inspo than we could handle, making us mega excited for the summer ahead. Need a fashion break-down? From bumbags to bandos, here are the five festival trends with main-stage status, as seen at Coachella 2018.

1. The Bumbags

Shop Bumbags >

Having raved about bumbags since the start of the season, we’re pleased to report that the throwback trend of SS18 has now made its way onto the festival circuit – as demonstrated by these main-stage movers. Belted designs in all-black everything proved to be the popular choice for the Coachella crowd, while mermaid sequins and metallics also made waves during the so-fire weekend.

2. The Face Jewels

Shop Face Jewels >

Move over, make-up – face jewels have officially taken over festival season. Stick-on sparkles and glitter-dusted skin was the clear favourite at Coachella 2018, making field-day ‘fits feel all the more magical. Wanna go even extra? Tap tips from one festival-goer and rock ‘em your bod with a bikini top.

3. The Cat-Eye Sunglasses

Shop Sunglasses >

Once the go-to fave of old-school Hollywood starlets, cat-eye sunglasses have had a modern makeover for SS18 – and these Coachella babes were all over them. But forget going for all-out glam ‘cause this season’s specs are taking a turn for the futuristic – think exaggerated angles, oversized shapes and mirrored lenses.

4. The Bandos

Shop Hair Accessories >

Great for fixing up your festival ‘do as well as disguising dry-shampooed roots, bandos were big news at Coachella 2018. Retro prints and florals brought all the vintage vibes to campsite get-ups, while tropical palms made the it-accessory feel much more now.

5. The Statement Earrings

Shop Earrings >

Statement earrings = the trend that we can’t get enough of. From punchy pom-poms and tiered tassels to supersized Scandi shapes, shoulder-grazing styles lit up the lobes of the festival fash pack, showing us that they’re staying put for the summer ahead.

5 Ways to Go All-Out Tropical

Hibiscus flowers, palm leaves and more tassels than we can count: yep, the tropical trend is taking over again this summer, giving our getaway ‘fits an extra hit of exotic. So whether you’re rocking Hawaiian prints from head to toe, or styling it a little more subtle, here are five ways to go all-out tropical for your next summer vacay.

1. The Bikinis

Life’s better in a bikini – and even more so when it comes with a tropical twist. From hibiscus prints and clashing neon colours to mini-yet-mega embroideries, there are endless ways to get exotic with your swimwear selection this summer. Add some statement tassels and you’re more than good.

2. The Swimsuit

Swimsuits = the so-SS18 way to get in on the tropical trend. Choose a crush-worthy coral number that’ll show off your golden glow like woah, making its print pop with bright, bold jewels that were designed with sunny destinations in mind.

3. The Beach Cover-Ups

Going straight from the beach to cocktails with the crew? Ditch the denim shorts and keep your tropi-cool with a cute cover-up that won’t feel out of place in paradise – we’re talking crisp cotton shirt dresses, kaftans and sun dresses with lush prints and all the embroideries.

4. The Maxi Dress

If you’ve been dreaming about reprising your role as actual real-life beach goddess ever since, well, last summer, then make some room for this mega maxi. Embroidered with hot-pink petals, this white-hot hun is your one-way ticket to becoming queen of the tropics – crown totes optional.

5. The Accessories

Looking for a more low-key way into the tropical trend? Start with all-white styling and add on the accessories to give your get-up extra energy – think pom-pom necklaces, pineapple earrings (omg) and embellished espadrilles to wear on all your adventures.

8 Biggest Music Festivals in Summer 2018

Glastonbury might be MIA in 2018 but that doesn’t mean we’re going to be packing away our wellies. A summer without a festival? No thanks. Sure, Glasto is a big one, but no worries because there are tonnes of other festivals happening with all-star lineups. Grab your tent (and maybe a rain jacket… and your wellies) and live it up at the eight biggest music festivals in summer 2018.

Parklife

9 – 10 June, Heaton Park, Manchester

A post shared by Parklife (@parklife_festival) on

Not a tent kind of gal? Parklife might be your jam. The no-camping site and killer line up is perfect if you’re after a one-day wonder. Grab your tickets to see The XX, Liam Gallagher, Lorde, A$AP Rocky, Skepta, Bonobo and so many other amazing acts that we’d need a whole book to list them.

Isle of Wight

21 – 24 June, Seaclose Park, Isle of Wight

Officially one of the sunniest places in the UK (so pack your sunnies!), Isle of Wight Festival is the closest you’ll get to holiday vibes without needing your passport. You know it’s a good one when it’s celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, so jump on the ferry to catch Kasabian, Rita Ora, Blossoms and The Killers.

Latitude

12 – 15 July, Henham Park, Suffolk

Wanna go lake swimming, catch a live podcast and then go and watch the IRL queen that is Solange? Better book your tickets to Latitude. The Killers, Alt-J, Rag’n’Bone Man and Jessie Ware are all on the line up too. Plus there are some seriously amazing glamping options. No wonder it won a ‘best festival’ award last year!

Bestival

The fancy dress themes always pave the way for out-of-this-world style and there’s the world’s biggest disco ball, the world’s biggest confetti canon and rainbow astronauts. Anything else? Oh, just M.I.A., Grace Jones, London Grammar, Chaka Khan and Django Django…

RiZE Festival

5 Reasons to Obsess Over Gen Z Yellow

From the moment Beyoncé swung her baseball bat around in THAT canary dress of dreams, Gen Z yellow has been slowly leaking into our wardrobes and filling our Insta feeds. Whether you’re all about the trend already or need some inspo (we got you), our five reasons to obsess over Generation Z yellow will show you why all shades of mustard and marigold deserve their time in the sun. Goodbye millennial pink – it’s not you, it’s us.

1. A Fresh Coat

When a trend is this easy to style, you can’t stop us from jumping on the hype. A yellow coat layers so effortlessly over an all-black palette, and is a dreamy match for leopard print details and a need-now military cap.

2. Low-Key Lemon

Get to grips with Generation Z yellow by using your accessories for a small dose of sunshine. We’re loving a popping clutch bag this season– just enough to shake up your everyday ‘fits without trying too hard.

3. Matchy Mustard

Muted-out shades of mustard are the easiest way to rock the trend if neutrals are your thing. This street-styler smashes the look with a matchy-matchy outfit that she breaks up with classic black accessories. We’re hooked.

4. All Gold

Who wants mellow yellow when you can go all-out on marigold? Every top-to-toe yellow look needs a matching piece of arm candy, and this mega-bright combo looks fresh-as with a pair of cool shades.

5. The Clash

We know it sounds wrong, but this trend-setter proves that Generation Z yellow and SS18 pastels are SO right together. Create the ultimate clash-up with sorbet-yellow, zingy orange and sugary lilac – the boxy mini bag gets our vote.

5 Mega-Yet-Minimal Looks for the Beach

If rainbow brights/tropical prints/colours of any kind aren’t really your thing, then you may find yourself in a bit of a pickle when it comes to planning your vacay ‘fits. Ring a bell? Well, fear not. Featuring pared-back palettes and easy-as accessories, we’ve put together five mega-yet-minimal looks for the beach, all here to prove that less is most definitely more.

1. It’s Maritime

Nautical styling doesn’t have to mean going full-on sailor girl. Patterned with clean navy stripes on white, this babein’ bikini nods to the trend without going OTT, making it a must-have for minimalists everywhere. All-white extras tone the look down to a tee, while blue-tint shades make it feel modern.

2. Hey Navy

Let’s take a moment for navy – it’s classic, cool and mega-flattering on just about anyone. Take it to the beach with a one-shoulder sun dress, giving it some so-now flavour with nude hues and rose gold metallics. Summer, we’re coming for ya.

3. Go Gingham

How to wear gingham without looking like an actual picnic table? A checked bikini (halter-necks + high-waist bottoms = pin-up perfection) is the coolest way into the trend – just chuck on a crisp cotton shirt for the midday heat. When it comes to the accessories, minimal metallics are the only deets you’ll ever need.

4. White Hot

White on white = the best way to show off that sun-kissed glow. Make it feel so-S118 with cute co-ords that’ll take you from pool to party quicker than you can say “lemme take a selfie”, adding further definition with all-black accessories. Wanna keep it interesting? A slogan straw hat is your number one hun.

5. Fade to Black

Don’t call time on head-to-toe black just ‘cause you’re heading off on your hols. Style it right in a lace-up swimsuit (check that back detail), throwing on a swishy little sun dress and cat-eye sunglasses for cocktail o’clock. For extra glam points, gold sandals are your beach-to-bar faves.

5 Embroidered Bags We’re Backing This Season

Embroidered bags = the trend that’s going nowhere. Yeah, OK, you’ve seen it before but no, you’ve not seen it looking as good as this. These arm-candy faves have needlework deets looking prettier, punchier and basically just better than ever. You with us? Now let these floral beauties grow on you.

1. Studs ‘n’ Stitches

Serve up the floral embroidery trend with a dose of attitude to keep things so fresh this season. Don’t be fooled by the super-sweet pastel lilac shade, this frame bag has a fierce edge too thanks to heavy-metal stud details. We’re obsessed.

2. Back the Blooms

Ultra-pretty embroidery and the street-chic backpack: a match made in heaven? We think so. Throw in a ladylike top handle and colour-block pocket on this embroidered backpack and you’ve got a major crush-worthy style to see you all the way through spring. Just try and leave the house without it – it ain’t happening.

3. Sew-Pretty Saddle

Just when we thought the saddle bag had given us all the looks, it throws a whole new vibe with perfectly stitched flowers. Talk about a hero piece. This cream-coloured dream is the best choice to tie into those lightened-up outfits on sunnier days (or through April showers for that matter).

4. Retro Girl

We love it when something feels like a throwback but with a fresh, new spin. Cue our retro-chic embroidered cross-body bag. Sassy studs and a micro boxy shape keep this poppin’ style well away from grandma territory, and paired with pastels it’ll have you clashing like a fash-hun. Think less frumpy, more fab.

5. Super Bowl

Looking to get a handle on the ladylike vibe of SS18? Then the bowling bag will be right up your alley. This floral cutie is the perfect day bag: carry it by its tradish rolled handles or go for the long strap to sling it over your everyday denim in a true-blue combo.
