5 Fascinators You’ll Actually Want to Wear

Fascinators – kinda frumpy and not something you’d ever consider wearing, right? Well, prepare to have your mind blown. From race days to posh summer weddings, these feather-clad creations have taken a turn for the cool, with modern shapes and sculptural designs replacing the stuffy styles in your nan’s photo albums. And let’s face it, if they’re good enough for the Royal wedding elite (Amal, Oprah and K-Middy – we’re looking at you) then they’re good enough for you. Here are five fascinators you’ll actually want to wear…

1. Disc(o) Queen

Off to Royal Ascot or somewhere equally as fancy? Tradition usually calls for something oversized and super-chic, so stick to strict dress codes with a large disc-topped headpiece, designed with a delicate satin bow and a swirling quill detail. Wear it an angle and serve all the looks.

2. Bloom Town

Whether it’s a church wedding or a sleek city ceremony, a swish little fascinator is often all you need to take that floral tea dress to new levels of luxe. In any case, do away with super-sized styles and go for something mini (yet mega), finished with a pretty silk flower that promises to add a little somethin’-somethin’ to your wedding guest get-up.

3. You’re So Extra

If you’ve heard through the grapevine that your ex is probably (read: definitely) going to be there too, then this can only mean one thing: looking as extra as you possibly can. Stealing all the stares, this statement-making headpiece features a folded crin base with a blooming bouquet of feather flowers, adding instant attitude to big-deal occasions.

4. Tear Up

In case you needed any extra proof that fascinators have come a long, long way then this sculpted piece is it. Crafted in a teardrop shape with an oversized bow, this angular pick is clean, cool and contemporary, letting you bring your fashion A-game to the big day without veering too far from your personal style.

5. Feather Weather

Need to ease yourself into the fascinator trend? Strike the perfect balance between smart and inconspicuous with a feathered design attached to an Alice band (comfy *and* discreet), making it the go-to choice for first-timers. In love.

5 Fresh Floral Looks for the Beach

Got a summer wardrobe with more flowers than an actual garden centre (sorry not sorry) and kinda want your holiday get-ups to look the same? Yep, we’ve got you. From swishy beach dresses to swim-friendly bikinis, these petal-covered picks are here to put your suitcase selection into full bloom. Here are five fresh floral looks for the beach…

1. Bloom in Black

A black playsuit might not scream summer but add on a few florals, and you’ve got yourself a warm-weather winner. Say ‘see ya’ to any sort of sleeve and go for a halter-neck hun that’ll show off your shoulders, and give it an extra touch of SS18-ness with straw accessories.

2. High Summer

When it comes to the rest of your getaway ‘drobe, make a petal-print playsuit your summer go-to – both for its punchiness *and* easy versatility. Don’t wanna go for print? Choose a statement-making style in bold red that brings a bloom-clad nod to the trend with cute flower cut-outs.

3. Petal Prints

How to wear a floral bikini without going down the tropical route? Stick to pretty pink shades on dreamy white backdrops, adding an SS18-approved edge with tassels on everything. One straw hat later, and your Insta feed is officially on fire.

4. Mix and Match

Rather check out the sunset than head back to your Airbnb? Stay on the sands until the sun goes down with fresh floral separates that’ll work for the beach and the bar. Slip into a crisp white top with a Bardot neckline (hello sun-kissed shoulders) and a bloom-covered mini, finishing the look with a matchy-matchy straw bag. Florals have never looked fancier.

5. Sun Dressed

A floral maxi = the most major must-have in any summer wardrobe. Leave ditsy prints at home and go for made-you-stare styling with full-colour embroideries on shore-grazing lengths, adding on the statement jewels that’ll serve all the sunset looks.

Our four must-pack beach looks for SS18 are fresh-as and ready to set your vacay snaps on fire, from the babe-worthy swimwear to the tropi-cool jewels. Here’s the download…

1. Beach Blooms

A cute off-shoulder top is a non-negotiable for your sunny-weather suitcase, and bringing an embroidered skirt into the mix makes for a killer combo. Accessorise this femme-floral vibe with a straw circle bag, and finish with staple-worthy raffia bangles.

2. Tropical Vibes

If in doubt, go all out. The maxi dress is a big deal when it comes to holiday season – no change there – and we’re loving the so-flattering shape of this side tie, halter-neck dream. 5 Instagram-Approved Hair Accessories

If your collection of hair accessories basically amounts to the black hairband that’s permanently on your wrist (guilty), then prepare to broaden your style horizons. From scarves to scrunchies, meet the five Instagram-approved hair accessories as seen on some of our favourite bloggers, guaranteed to glam up your strands for summer days.

1. The Knot Bando

Bandos are back – and our second-day hair couldn’t be happier. Taking their inspiration from 70s’ styles, these knotted numbers are here to serve up all the vintage feels with glam geometric prints and dreamy blooms. The best way to wear one? Style it over a middle part like our Insta crush Natali Kabanova (@natali_kabanova) for those straight-outta-Woodstock vibes.

2. The Printed Scarf

Often associated with our nans, printed scarves are now the latest hair heroes on the block – as proved by fashion blogger Robyn Taylor (@phasesofrobyn). Graphic floral prints and geometric patterns with soft pastel accents are the styles to be seen in, giving plain ponytails a little extra swish this summer.

3. The Wired Headband

Bows, prints and all the pin-up vibes: yep, the wired headband is back. This time around, the throwback favourite is making the rounds with pretty florals that work just as well for hometown hangs as they do on holiday. Case in point? Globe-trotting gal Aya Stewart (@gipsea_echoes) rocking a printed pick with a pink kaftan, sandals and the breakfast of our actual dreams.

4. The 90s Scrunchie

The go-to hair accessory of school discos/playgrounds/all our Spice Girl dance routines, the scrunchie is back with a bite. Disco sequins, molten metallic textures and high-octane holographs make up this season’s must-haves, taking the place of the so-90s styles hiding in our childhood bedrooms. Take tips from Insta-babe Charlotte Fisher (@charlottefisher) and wear yours with a high pony.

5. The Bow Hairband

Again, if you haven’t worn a bow in your hair since your primary school days then rest assured that SS18’s offerings definitely won’t have you looking like you’ve time-warped your way back into Year Six.  Go grown-up with oversized bows in sleek satin like blogger Primrose Bigwood from @stylepetal, or add some pretty to your ponytail with dainty little picks in velvet.

Accessorize AW18 Press Day: 5 Trends to Watch

Press days = basically our way of giving you guys a glimpse into the future. So whether you’re into forward-planning your ‘fits or just fancy a nosy at next season’s new-in arrivals (spoiler: they’re pretty amazing), here are the five trends to watch for AW18.

1. Paint it Purple

Want to take this season’s lust for lilac and make it more AW18-appropriate? Put your trust in purple. Powerful and punchy, the latest iteration of the catwalk colour is seen across the key bags of the new season, from moody mauves to pretty periwinkles. For a more fashion-forward feel, mix in a few teal touches. So good.

2. Wear the Rainbow

Showing us that they’re so much more than a festival season fad, the rainbow trend is back the agenda for AW18. From work-to-weekend bags in paintbox brights to saturated sparkles on party-ready clutches and jewels, these made-you-stare styles are here to bring the feel-good vibes as we make our way into winter.

3. Animal Magic

Everyone knows that leopard print is pretty much a given for autumn/winter but this season, animal-inspired styling has seriously upped the ante. Clashing skins (faux, of course) lend cross-body bags a little extra luxe – look out for saddle styles and boxy shapes. And as for the jewellery? Tortoiseshell styles and statement necklaces in luxe leopard fabrics add an 80s-inspired vibe to fashion’s favourite trend.

4. Sweeping Statements

Time to breathe a collective sigh of relief – statement earrings are as relevant as ever for AW18. Oversized blooms and tassels in mustard yellow hues sit alongside structural resin styles, thread-wrapped hoops and hammered metal textures, making themselves known as next season’s need-now pairs.

5. Autumn Calling

Autumn’s colour palettes are getting shaken up for the new season, with cool corals being added into the style mix. Hand-painted floral prints in summer’s usual go-to hue are out in force on the between-season bags that we have to have, making the transition into autumn easier than ever before. But rest assured that your favourite shades of rust, honey-hued caramels and deep chestnuts aren’t going anywhere fast – and the proof is in the jewels.

Summer Occasion Style with ModestMira

Busy planning all your Ramadan outfits? Get some inspiration from Amira, fashion blogger at ModestMira, as she shows us what she’ll be wearing to this summer’s most special occasions.

On the Dot

For my daytime look, I opted for this black polka dot midi dress and wore it with this beautiful glitter pleated scarf in pale pink, styled as a half turban. Then, I matched the colour of the scarf with this gorgeous framed bag – perfect for adding a pop of colour to any outfit. No look is complete with a pair of statement earrings so I added on these long beaded tassel earrings too. They’re great with a casual look but would also look amazing for the evening iftar.

Gingham Glam

My second outfit leans more towards an evening look for when you plan to open your iftar at a family gathering or restaurant. This time, I went for the white scarf for a more elegant touch, pinning it in the middle and crossing each remaining section so that they draped over my shoulders. I also love how it matched my top and gingham trousers perfectly. I kept my accessories subtle by opting for a gold charm necklace, as well as an embroidered bag which complemented the whole look.

5 So-Fancy Looks for Summer Weddings

Summer weddings = the perfect excuse to look as extra as you can. So whether you’re watching your best gal get hitched or you’re the plus-one who doesn’t know a single soul, out-dress everyone (but not the bride, obvs) with our so-fancy wedding guest accessories that were made to be noticed.

1. Lilac Lust

Still living on that lilac hype? Uh-huh, us too.  From supersized necklaces and out-there earrings to candy-coloured clutch bags, take the trend to the big day with statement styles in parma violet palettes – aka the so-now way to add a bit of SS18 sweetness to your wedding guest get-up.

2. Ethereal Creature

If your wedding guest ‘fit is on the softer side of the colour spectrum, then a few dreamy sparkles are exactly what you need.  Get your glimmer on with twinkling jewels in celestial silvers or pastel hues, or turn your clutch into a talking point with mega embellishments or flapper-girl fringing. Wanna tone it down? A blush-toned bag is the one.

3. Touch Point

Feathers, fringing and tassels with all the sass – this season, it’s all about textured accessories. Swish your way into wedding season with shoulder-grazing earrings that are just that little more fancier than your everyday power pairs, clashing it up with crush-worthy clutch bags with tactile textures. Bring on the Boomerangs.

4. Bloom On

Catching the bouquet? Don’t bother – bring your own blooms instead. Going all-out with 3D appliqués, embroideries and sparkling sequins, these big-deal bags will save you from blending into the background (like you needed any help), as well as making you feel seriously summery. If you’d rather stick to statement jewels, look out for XXL petals on glam gold chains.

5. Metal Head

Having made its mark with modern, minimal shapes, Scandi-inspired styling has blown up its proportions for SS18 – and just in time for wedding season. Crank up the cool factor with clean, dropped designs (the BFF of bare shoulders, and meet its match with a co-ordinating clutch bag. Feeling brave? Break the mould with a mash-up of metals in silver and gold.

Charlotte Fisher: My Summer of Love

If anyone’s got the whole ‘watch more sunsets than Netflix’ thing nailed then Charlotte Fisher is probably it. Join us as we catch up with the blogger babe on her travels in Mexico (check those dreamy backdrops though), and find out more about the styles and sounds she’s loving this summer…

Tell us about your holiday destination.

I’m discovering some new ground in Yucatan, Mexico, and revisiting an island called Holbox which stole my heart almost two years ago – it’s the Maldives of Mexico!

What do you love most about summer?

Where do I begin? Firstly the longer days – the more daylight and sunshine, the better for me! Plus the sunrises and sunsets just get that much better too. I love running, so a sunset run along the river where I live on is amazing, or a sunset swim with the dogs on one of the many Isle of Wight beaches!

Give us the low-down of your top summer suitcase must-packs – and why you can’t leave home without them.

A straw hat of some type always has to come away with me these days – preferably with a matching beach bag! Statement earrings are a must-have too. I feel they really complement holiday styles and look amazing with a swimsuit too. Talking of which, I always go for a colorful swimsuit as well as a more neutral one which I then jazz up with accessories.

What’s your ultimate summer anthem for 2018?

This year, I’ve had Post Malone’s new album on repeat but I’m also loving Nice for What by Drake.

If you could vacay with any celeb, who would you pick and why?

Justin Bieber! I’m sure I don’t need to explain why but the guy looks great in swimmers…

Quick-fire round…

Beach or pool?

Such a tough one… beach in general but some pools have unrivalled locations!

Bikini or swimsuit?

Skimpy swimsuits!

Sunrise or sunset?

Sunrise because you still have the day ahead of you and the sunset to catch too! I love seeing both!

Landmarks or hidden treasures?

Hidden treasures.

Ice cream or ice lolly?

Meet Our Exclusive Tropical Print for SS18

Shake your palm-palms: tropical prints have gone turbo for SS18. From pineapples to lush leaves, these mega motifs are bringing all the feel-good vibes to our hot-weather wardrobes – so naturally, we *had* to get a slice of the action. Hand-painted by our super-talented designers right here in our London head office, we’ve created an exclusive tropical print for our new season collection – and what’s more, it’s so unique that you won’t find anywhere else on the high street. Need the deets? Right this way…

Behind the Scenes

Pineapples, palm leaves and flamingos – if you’re looking for tropical print that’s as extra as you are, then this Hawaiian-inspired hun is basically it. Armed with paints, props and a whole loada imagination, our in-house #Accessorizers were able to conjure up a statement summer print like no other.

Lucia, Senior Designer for Accessorize, said: “We were really inspired by palm trees and bananas leaves. We loved the idea of a camouflaged tropic with hidden birds and creatures – our own exotic jungle!”

1. The Travel Bags

Jetting off on holiday? Get in that tropical state of mind before you even leave home with a paradise-print tote – fill it with your carry-ons for the flight before it becomes your beachside essential. For matchy-matchy vibes, double up with the co-ordinating wash bag.

2. The Swimwear

Whether you’re island-hopping somewhere sunny or seaside-tripping with your hometown huns, tropical prints are a sure-fire fave for a day on the beach. Go high-fashion with a plunging swimsuit (that low back detail though) or get tan line-friendly with a babein’ bikini.

3. The Cover-Ups

On the look-out for coconut cocktails? Swish your way over to the tiki bar in so-exotic cover-ups – think cool kaftans thrown over your bikini or, if you wanna go all-out beach babe, slip into a sarong that’ll show off that summer glow.
