Behind the Scenes: &FINALLY Style Our SS19 Press Shoot

Step behind the scenes of our SS19 press shoot, as styled by Florrie Thomas and Anna Vitiello, fashion editors and creators of &FINALLY. From luxe leopard prints and  bucket bags to ready-to-stack hair slides, these exclusive snaps showcase the best new arrivals of the season – here’s how to style them.

Neutral Ground

Animal prints are still going strong in SS19, complementing the current obsession with all things utility to new-season perfection. For the shoot, Florrie and Anna picked out our leopard-print hair scarf scrunchie, pairing it with resin earrings and long, layered necklaces for a look that’ll lend itself well to neutral colour palettes.  Fringed bucket bags in tan leather and belted designs followed suit as the ‘it’ accessories of warm-weather days, while unexpected pops of pretty came in the shape of embellished hair slides and hoops.

Blush Hour

Counteracting the neutral mood of the utility trend, sugar-sweet pastels are back in full force for the new season. Powdery pinks and deep berry tones were favoured by the fashion duo, who carefully curated top-handle bags and scallop-edge purses to feature in the candy-coloured shoot. And for the finishing touches? Hair slides in complementing colours became the final flourishes worthy of a sunny-day Instagram.

Street Style: &FINALLY at London Fashion Week

Introducing SS19, the street style way. See how Florrie Thomas and Anna Vitiello, fashion editors and creators of &FINALLY, are styling the season’s key looks and accessories as they take to the capital’s streets for London Fashion Week. For more inspiration, don’t forget to follow their full fashion takeover over on our Instagram.

Which trends are you most looking forward to wearing in SS19?

Florrie: This summer seems to be an extension of last summer in terms of trends (which we love as we hate the idea of fad trends that are ‘over’ after a season). This is music to our ears as we were all over the laid-back vibe of last summer. Shells, raffia, linen and all things woven seem to be very of-the-moment, as well as anklets, beaded earrings and long pendants. They’re all things we’ve loved for a long time so it’s great that they’re back.

Anna: Linen suiting, tailored shorts, woven bags, big shoulders and hair clips. Winter is really my season but when the weather warms up, I can’t wait to get into those lighter fabrics and summery textures.

Where do you go for fashion inspiration?

F: Like most people, Instagram is our go-to platform for inspiration. Whether it’s sending each other posts to use as references for shoots, discovering new brands or personally following accounts for inspiration on dressing, it really is full of fashion inspiration.

A: We’re also both avid Pinterest users. There’s so much incredible fashion on there and there’s nothing like a mood board to inspire your styling and ideas when creating content, be it for editorial or social.

*Hair clips coming soon.

Who are you favourite fashion influencers?

F: There are so many out there that provide so much inspiration! I love the Danish girls like Jeanette Madsen and Emili Sindlev for their sense of fun and ability to pair unexpected prints and colours together in a way that feels so fresh.

A: I’ll go by my most-saved because it would be impossible to choose otherwise. Evangelie Smyrniotaki has an eye like no one else on Instagram, and I love my girl Doina Ciobanu for the same reason. I also love so many of my friends for their personality that shines through their feeds: Xenia Adonts, Florrie Thomas, Chrissy Rutherford, Bettina Looney and Nina Suess. I check all their accounts regularly (especially if I don’t see them that often) because they genuinely inspire me.

Meet the Accessorize Design Team

Ever wondered who designs our fashion treasures? Let us introduce you to the Accessorize design team. Transforming sketches and samples to bona fide style must-haves right here in our London studio, we meet the women who bring the brand to life…

Minna Mia Holland, Senior Designer (Soft Accessories/Cold Weather) and Charlotte Wood, Assistant Designer (Beach/Swim)

What’s the best thing about your job?

Travel. I have had the opportunity to live and work in different countries over the course of my career and met some wonderful people and had some crazy experiences along the way!  It has been a real privilege to learn from all the brilliantly creative and talented craftspeople I have worked with over the years. The relationships I have built with people around the world are really special to me and are a constant source of joy and inspiration!

– Minna Mia Holland, Senior Designer (Soft Accessories/Cold Weather)

I love the fact that every single Accessorize product is designed from scratch in our London studios. It means that every single product within each range is given love and ownership from start to finish. It’s always such an amazing feeling seeing a product you have designed and overseen from the start, brought to life in a campaign shoot. The team I work with are all incredibly creative, inspiring, talented and, most importantly, we all share a huge passion for the design of beautiful products.

– Charlotte Wood, Assistant Designer (Beach/Swim)

Cassie Anne Worman, Junior Jewellery Designer

Where do you find your inspiration?

You can’t beat going out and exploring, be it travel and culture, art, history, literature or food. There are so many avenues – it’s just about getting out there, finding and translating them.

– Cassie Anne Worman, Junior Jewellery Designer

Everywhere! One of the great things about being creative is that inspiration can be found in the most obscure or apparently mundane places. I once met an inspiring elderly lady who had taken up textiles late in life – even doing a degree in her late eighties. She told me how it had made her see the world differently and that she now noticed much more beauty in everyday things. We both agreed we loved this open way of seeing – what could be better than that?

– Minna Mia Holland, Senior Designer (Soft Accessories/Cold Weather)

Ann Magritt, Senior Designer (Handbags) and Hannah Callaghan, Handbag Designer

Who’s your favourite designer and why?

Miuccia Prada for being daring and really different – she once said “what you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today when human contacts go so fast. Fashion is instant language”. I love the idea that fashion can be a language and how you use it tells your story. The great thing with accessories is that they are easy purchases that can enhance not just your look but your mood – and the mood of those around you.I also really like what Stuart Vevers has done for Coach. The brand has really moved on and has a distinct new style.

– Ann Magritt, Senior Designer (Handbags)

My favourite designer brand would have to be Chloe. I love the mix of 70s glam with the feminine bohemian prints and textures. The iconic hardware and surface detail on the bags are always so beautifully crafted.

– Hannah Callaghan, Handbag Designer

Jessica Sharman, Designer (Angels) and Jasmine Broughton, Assistant Embellishment Designer

What advice would you give someone wanting to get into the fashion industry?

Be creative in as many ways as you can, even if it doesn’t relate to your career goals exactly. Learn, create and absorb as much as you can from your experiences and travels!

– Jessica Sharman, Designer (Angels)

Never stop learning. This industry is constantly changing, and you must keep up with the technology, innovations and trends.

– Valentina Wolfermann, Print Design Assistant

Which Accessorize SS19 collection are you most excited about?

I am most excited about the Amalfi collection. I absolutely love the fun and humour within the pieces. Working on the textile bags for this collection was very exciting, and I really love the fruit pieces we have within the range!

Jasmine Broughton, Assistant Embellishment Designer

The Fiesta collection has made me impatient for summer to arrive! The bright colours and the textures of weavings and embroideries are a great combination.

Valentina Wolfermann, Print Design Assistant

Georgie Chappell, Print Designer

Design Stories: Inside Our London Studio with Z for Accessorize

Join us as we step inside our London studio with Zara Simon, designer of the exclusive Z for Accessorize jewellery collection. Plated with precious metals and set with sparkling embellishments, the empowering new range showcases powerful symbols with a story to tell. Here’s your exclusive first look…

The Inspiration

“The new limited-edition collection is inspired by influential women throughout history, including Joan of Arc, Cleopatra and superheroes such as Wonder Woman, as we felt this was a very relevant reference at this current time. Powerful symbols were also the force behind the range – they include shields for strength, snakes for wisdom and evil eyes that offer protection.” – Zara Simon.

The Collection

“We used a mix of beautifully-cast metals, semi-precious stones and crystals as the materials to give the range a luxe feel. The aim is to make the wearer feel both empowered and beautiful through her jewellery.” – Zara Simon.

Style It Your Way: Yatri Pabari Wears Snakeskin

Introducing our new fashion series, Style It Your Way. For the next few weeks of 2019, we’ll be exploring the key runway trends of next season with some of our favourite influencers and showing you how to incorporate must-have style treasures into your new-year repertoire – without having to splash out on whole new outfit. First up, fashion blogger Yatri Pabari shows us how she’s wearing the latest animal print to love: snakeskin…

On the Runway: Snakeskin

Michael Kors, SS19 | House of Holland, SS19 |Marta Jakubowski, SS19

Hot on the heels of the leopard print trend that had us all obsessed, snakeskin is the natural next step in fashion’s obsession with all things wild. Over on the runways, we witnessed the print combine with graphic florals at Michael Kors, while flashes of unexpected colour were seen at House of Holland, offering a cool, contemporary take of the trend of now. Something a little more classic came in the form of the belted snakeskin coat at Marta Jakubowski, proving that timeless iterations of the print still have plenty of style relevance.

Styled by Yatri

Talk us through the trends you’re wearing…

I can’t stop wearing snakeskin right now. Whether it’s a bag or a scarf, the print can instantly jazz up an outfit without it being too much. It’s a great way to add that extra detail to a look.

What are your favourite pieces from the shoot and why?

I loved every piece! I absolutely love the resin hair clips and earrings – they’re an easy way to update any outfit and complement the snakeskin print to perfection.

Which SS19 trends are you most excited about?

I’m looking forward to embracing the minimalism trend a little more next season, as well as Western-inspired styling with boots and pleated dresses. I like to mix up different trends to suit my personal style so it will be exciting to experiment with fashion’s new offerings in SS19.

4 Birthday Gifts for Capricorn

It’s time to take some time to reflect – Capricorn season (21st December-20th January) has arrived, calling on us to think about what we’ve learned over the past year. As we enter this period of deep contemplation, we’re inviting you to explore the most serious star signs on the zodiac wheel, as well as showing you the best birthday gifts that Capricorns are sure to treasure to years to come.

About the Capricorn Sign

Ruled by Saturn, the planet that brings structure and meaning into our world, Capricorns are realistic and grounded, thriving on order and a set way to do things. Ambitious, disciplined and driven, those born under the sign are self-confident and put their best efforts in achieving their goals – and have plenty of patience to see them through. Fiercely loyal to friends, family and loved ones, Capricorns are warm and trustworthy but can be cautious about who they let into their inner circle. As an earth sign, they tend to be very practical and dependable; however, this does mean that Capricorns are prone to stubbornness and often find it hard to compromise on certain values and principles.

1. The Constellation Necklace

The smallest constellation in the zodiac, Capricornus forms the image of a sea goat – a mythical creature with the tail of a fish. See it depicted on our premium plated necklaces from the Z for Accessorize jewellery collection, studded with cubic zirconia stones for subtle sparkle – guaranteed to satisfy Capricorn’s need for the finer things in life.

2. The Capricorn Bracelet

Crafted from sterling silver, this cord bracelet features the sea-goat symbol for Capricorn, represented by the hoof of a mountain goat and the tail of a fish. As a grounded earth sign, Capricorn is known for being hard-working and ambitious but its magical, mermaid-like tail serves to reminds us of the sign’s deeply creative and imaginative side.

3. The Birthstone Necklace

Celebrating a Capricorn birthday in January? Made from glossy gold-tone metal, this luxe necklace is embellished with a Swarovski® crystal in the same dark red hue of a garnet – the birthstone for January.

4. The Capricorn Keyring

Engraved with the mythical sea goat constellation, this gold-tone metal keyring is a gift that Capricorn will always carry with them. It’s set with tiny, twinkling gemstones, allowing them to add a little extra sparkle to the every day.
