Pre-Fall 2018: Florals to Love Now and Later

Picked straight from our pre-fall collection, our all-new floral prints are making hearts go boom – and it’s not hard to see why. Inspired by the romanticism of the AW18 runways, and hand-painted by us in our London design studio, these exclusive designs are making blooms feel fresher than ever before.  Need a closer look? Here are the florals that you’ll be loving now and later…

Florals: On the Runway

The AW18 runways had a blossoming romance with floral prints, with blooms in soft, muted shades flouring across the season’s statement pieces. Oscar de la Renta staged a fairy-tale fantasy with subdued watercolour prints on floor-grazing gowns, while Zimmermann took its inspiration from centuries past with artful blooms on Victorian silhouettes, detailed with unexpected 80s influences. Valentino, on the other hand, embarked on a full-blown love affair with large-scale florals on dusky designs that feel fitting for late-summer afternoons as well as early autumn days. One word: dreamy.

Focus On: The Print

The romantic tone of the runways served as the perfect springboard for the creation of our key floral print from the pre-fall collection. Hand-painted in our London studio by our talented team of designers, this exclusive print mixes the nostalgic and the new with vintage-inspired florals on the powdery pink hues that we’ve been loving for several seasons now.

From cross-body bags to mini totes and backpacks, it’s safe to say that this season’s signature bags are all getting in on the floral action. But don’t forget this: structured shapes are here to balance out pretty prints and super-soft colour palettes, giving the bags we need the most an updated aesthetic.

Focus On: The Embroidery

Prints aren’t the only way to wear this season’s favourite florals. Placed on pared-back pink, these sweet stitched blooms have an air of the ethereal about them, making them so right for big-deal occasions. We love.

Style Insider: Patricia Batatas’ AW18 Picks

Introducing our first style insider: Patricia Batatas. We invited the London-based fashion blogger – otherwise known as @peexo on Instagram – on an exclusive street style shoot to show us how she’ll be wearing her top picks from the new collection at Accessorize, plus we find out more about her all-time fashion favourites…

How would you describe your style?

My style is quite girly but I’m always open to experimenting with new trends so sometimes my style can be quite eclectic. With that said, I know what I like – I’m a high-waisted jean and (faux) leather jacket kinda girl so I always have those items on repeat.

Which trends are you loving right now?

Florals are a year-round print – you can never go wrong with them. I’m a huge fan of the pink and purple tones in the new Accessorize collection, as well as how versatile each piece is. Whether you’re heading out-out and need a clutch bag or you’re travelling and need a backpack, you can have your florals any way you like this season.

Who is your celebrity style muse?

I love Gigi Hadid’s style; it’s laid-back with serious model off-duty vibes. She wears a lot of denim and also rocks a lot of colour from time to time in such a bold way, whether that’s head-to-toe yellow, red, pink or nude. I love her!

What are your favourite pieces from the shoot?

On the shoot, I wore a really simple gold star necklace throughout which I loved. I know it would fit in seamlessly with my style. In complete contrast to that dainty piece, the statement earrings were gorgeous too. I particularly loved the tassel pair – they’re a little bit of me!

Patricia Batatas

Putting the pretty into our Instagram feeds with her dreamy dresses, London-based blogger Patricia Batatas (@peexo) is one to watch. Here, she shows us her take on mustard – the key colour trend of the moment – without straying from her personal sense of style. In love.

Danielle Ward

For a lesson in effortless cool, look no further than Danielle Ward (@littlefashbird). Cementing the theory that less is always more, the stylist, writer and social influencer takes a pared-back approach to next season’s trends – and we can’t wait to see more.

Naomi Ross

From free-flowing florals to punchy polka dots, there’s no doubting that Naomi Ross (@naaomiross) has a penchant for prints. We love how they’re the perfect base for the fashion blogger to trial next season’s iteration of paintbox brights – it’s time to take notes.

Yatri Pabari

Nobody does luxe quite like Yatri Pabari (@y.a.t.r.i) – and the proof lies in her Instagram feed. The fashion, beauty and travel blogger shows us how to stay true to style tastes while nodding to the new season – Pinterest-worthy inspiration, guaranteed.

Introducing the New Pre-Fall Collection

Introducing Mocha: the new pre-fall collection at Accessorize. Curated with pieces to wear now and right through AW18, this latest line-up is defined by its structured bags, resin jewels and contemporary colour palettes. Need to know more? Here’s a sneak peek at the next-season styles to add to your wish-list.

1. Resin Jewels

Fashion’s fascination with resin jewellery continues into next season, with contemporary designs and fresh formations making up the key style updates.  Earrings are elevated with an all-glam clash of shapes and textures, while statement necklaces nod to the trend with rows of polished pendants.

2. Silk Scarves

Silk scarves = the cult buys of the next season. Whether knotted around your neck or tied onto the handles of your tote, these luxe patterned pieces are fashion’s favourite way to make the retro feel relevant again. Look out for painterly floral prints and geometric motifs.

3. Modern Mustard

From last season’s obsession with Gen Z yellow to the recent revival of mustard, it’s no secret that yellow is the colour that we’re crushing on the most right now. Want an easy way into the trend? Take note of this supersized tote in the hottest hue of the moment, designed in faux leather with multiple pockets – so right for work and weekends.

4. Hand-Painted Prints

The perennial print of every season, florals feel a little more elevated for AW18 – and it’s all thanks to their hand-painted motifs, created in our London-based design studio. Find them on structured totes, cross-body bags and so-sleek purses or – for something a little more subdued – pick up their petal-toned counterparts.

5. Structured Shapes

Moving away from the free-spirited styles of summer, next season’s bags are all about structured shapes in muted colour palettes – and we can’t get enough. Top-handle totes and hobo bags (yep, they’re back) are the everyday essentials that we didn’t know we needed till now, upping our arm candy status from work to weekends.

New-In Beach Looks for Summer Vacays

So here’s the deal: you hand-picked your holiday hits and were waiting patiently for payday when – disaster – everything in your size was pretty much wiped from your wish-list. So, what’s a girl to do? Dive straight into new, of course. From bikinis to beach dresses, here are the just-landed looks that you need for your summer vacay – get set to make some waves.

Sea You Soon

Step one: nail the accessories. Keeping you shielded from the sun’s rays as well as upping your Insta cred, a straw hat is the ultimate summer buy – and especially when it comes with a rose gold brim. Add a pair of shades and you’re more than good.

Bloom in the Summer

Whether you’re island-hopping or getting your chill on by the coast, nothing says vacay season quite like a few summery florals. From cut-out swimsuits to cool-as kaftans, these bloom-covered buys are sure to bring the sunshine vibes to your suitcase edit.

Coast Along

Maxi dresses are must-haves for many reasons: they’re versatile, chic and so right for those swishy Boomerangs. For a sweeping style that’s guaranteed to make a statement, go for a dreamy white number with eye-catching embroideries and a cut-out back to show off that sun-kissed skin.

All Hands on Deck

Want to keep your swimwear simple? Then make way for monochrome. Classically cool, a black crochet swimsuit is a fail-safe style for the seaside adventures *and* the local lido – we like how this ones comes with a criss-cross back. If bikinis are more your bag, then this reversible number (polka dots on one side, stripes on the other) will give you even more to play with.

Show Your Shoulders

Bardot necklines are still going strong so invest in a dress that’ll give your shoulders the airtime that they deserve. Patterned with embroidered flowers, this floaty cotton cutie will do just that – wear yours with your favourite sandals.

1. She’s a Rainbow

It’s official: rainbow stripes have taken over our wardrobes. Bold, bright and mega mood-boosting, Maddie rocked the trend with a swishy striped sun dress, adding an extra splash of colour with embellished espadrilles. Oversized shades in clean white, straw accessories and simple gold jewels were on-hand to tone down the look to a tee. In love.

5 Going-Out Bags for Summer Nights

Weddings, grad balls and rooftop parties: this summer, it’s all going on. So whether you’ve already picked the perfect outfit or haven’t even thought about party prep (who needs to be organised when next-day delivery exists, right?), here are five going-out bags for every kinda summer soiree – you’re welcome.

1. Golden Age

Wearing all white? When it comes to the bag, gold is the only way to go. Rounded designs make metallic textures feel all the more modern, so stick to clean, circular styles that have got high-summer glam down to a tee. Accentuate the minimal mood with Scandi-style jewels in the same tone – think geometric shapes and barely-there sparkles.

2. Wild Flower

Florals aren’t just for flower girls. Give them the grown-up treatment with a bloom-covered clutch in muted tones that don’t stray over to sickly, encrusted with petal-shaped jewels for delicate sparkle. Wear yours with a tonal hue for an extra hit of pretty.

3. Midnight Hour

Super-chic and endlessly versatile, black clutch bags are the ultimate party plus-ones. For a new-season take on the fashion classic, opt for a structured style in a woven texture with gold-tone metal deets for a little added luxe. Add on black tassel earrings and brushed gold jewels for perfect co-ordination.

4. Sugar Rush

Pastels have cooled down since the start of the season, with ice-cold tones making up the new sugared shades of summer. Get a taste of the trend with an ombre clutch in soft mint and rose petal-pink, styling it against stark, chalky palettes for a cool contrast. A pair of pastel heels later and you’re all set for that pre-party Boomerang.

5. On the Fringe

Fringed bags = the SS18 way to do flapper girl glam. Shimmy this way with a tasselled style in dreamy ombre pinks, choosing a cool duffle design over a classic clutch. Match the soft petal tones with pretty pieces in rose gold metal, and show them off against a pared-back palette.

5 All-New Beach Looks to Pack Now

If the thought of going on holiday is the only thing getting you through that sticky commute (heatwave + public transport = not a good look) then here’s one more thing to lift your mid-summer spirits: our all-new arrivals for the beach. Ready, jet-set, go!

1. Ruffles All Round

Ruffles have been doing the style rounds for a few seasons now so it only feels right to bring them to the beach. Printed with hothouse florals, this babein’ bikini has been made all the more Insta-worthy with flirty frills and a high-cut waist. Add to the pin-up girl vibes with high-rise shorts and cat-eye sunglasses, finishing the look with a pair of simple sandals.

2. Floral Clash

If you want to take your obsession with floral prints to the next level then this cool combo is definitely the way to do it. Make waves in a beach-ready bikini with mix-and-match florals, slipping into its co-ordinating kaftan when it’s time to head to the bar. A printed tote bag brings a little extra boldness to the look, while plain tan sandals tone it down to a tee.

3. Poolside Siren

A red swimsuit = the easiest way to do poolside glamour. Opt for a plunging style with lace-up details and a low scooped back – we like it best worn with a breezy white shirt. Want to make the whole thing feel more now? An embroidered straw bag and chunky silver sliders are here to bring the look straight into SS18.

4. Blue Lagoon

Want to match your surroundings? Blue is the hue you need. Choose a bloom-covered swimsuit in classic navy, and team it with a swishy sun dress in a cobalt colour palette. Statement hoops in hot pink will make the whole look pop, while gold sandals will rack up the glam points.

5. Reverse It

Only taking hand luggage with you? No biggie – pack a reversible bikini to save space *and* serve all the looks at that pool party you’ve been invited to. Throw on a bold sun dress (so much love for those embroideries) and luxe it up with gold hoops and matching sandals.

How to Choose the Perfect Sunglasses

Summer’s in – and it’s time to throw some shade. From tiny lenses to mega frames, sunglasses are the ultimate accessory for warm-weather days, whether you’re hanging out at home or jetting off abroad. Want to know how to choose the perfect sunglasses to suit your face shape? We’ve got you covered with our super-easy guide – you’ll be serving those summer looks in no time.

Suss out your face shape

Knowing your face shape is a shortcut to picking out the most fire frames for you. The five main ones are sqaure, oval, oblong, round and heart

No idea what your face shape is? No worries, there are loads of ways to work it out. If you want to get super-technical, you can measure the key, defining areas of your face and scribble down the measurements as you go along: cheekbone to cheekbone, the width of your jawline, the length of your face and the width of your forehead.

Need a quicker way to figure it out? Grab an eyeliner pencil, head over to the mirror and draw the outline of your face onto it – simple!

Square

Square-shaped faces are usually characterised by a wide brow and jawline that are a similar width in appearance, plus a square or flat chin.

Your perfect sunglasses: Square-shaped faces look amazing in round sunnies. Opt for cat-eye pairs with that’ll soften your features while adding a touch of old-school glamour.

Oval

Oval faces are longer than they are wide, and your brow, cheekbones and jawline are pretty much equal in width.

Your perfect sunglasses: When it comes to oval faces, the choice is all yours because almost anything goes. This season, we’re loving flat-top sunglasses that are classic, cool and won’t swamp those babein’ features.

Oblong

Oblong faces are generally longer than they are wide with a narrow width. Cheeklines and sides are usually straight, and chins can be pointed.

Your perfect sunglasses: Oblong faces work especially well with rounded frames. Choose a vintage-inspired pair that will flatter your bone structure while nodding to one of this season’s key trends.

Round

If you’ve got a round face, the height and width of your face will be around the same. Features are soft and cheekbones are usually the widest point.

Your perfect sunglasses: Angular lines look amazing on round faces, adding definition and accentuating those cheekbones. Think oversized square frames that’ll give you some extra structure as well as serious glam points.

Heart

Heart-shaped faces are usually narrower at the chin and wider at the temples. Chins are noticeably pointed, and cheekbones taper into the jawline.

Your perfect sunglasses: Heart shapes should go for frames that mirror their face shape; narrower on the bottom and wider at the top – just like these too-cool aviators.
